If you like your tri-tip to be three quarters fat surrounded by meat cooked to a state of just over raw, then this is your place! My mistake is that I didn't check the reviews before I bought a meal where almost everything had to be thrown away. Good fries though. Just. Plain. Awful.
food was not the worst for airport food, but everything else was awful.I'm a big fan of the real Jack's Urban Eats in midtown Sacramento, so this seemed like a no brainer. Jack's in sac is really fast so this should be no exceptions right? wrong. in addition to being more expensive, it took about 15 minutes to get my food. It gets worse. the outside of the box has condiments all over. I pick up the box, now in a rush to get to my gate. I set the box of my lap, finally ready to eat. Suddenly my pants are absolutely ruined. I had forgot to check the bottom of the box, which for some reason I assumed wouldn't be a mess like the top of the box. stay away from this place!
Been a fan of Jacks mid-town Sacramento, Loehmann’s plaza, Folsom and Roseville Fountains since each one opened. SMF food is fair, service average, and could be a little cleaner. Looking from the outside Mos def cleaner. Basic utensils and napkins are behind the counter; annoying if there is no one to help and you have a plane to catch. Not much selection for good food in the terminal. Self serve kiosk is slow either from OS or internet connection. Screen and keypad could have been cleaner on the day I ordered. Worth a second try...
Ordered a breakfast sandwich to go. What I got was the regular breakfast. I even wanted a croissant instead of bread. Not the day I wanted to start off with.
Little interaction from staff. Proces were way too high for the slapped together breakfast sandwich that I received. Coffee is self serve and subpar. Honestly, McDonald's would have been a better option.
I normally like eating at any Jack’s Urban Eats. However, this has been the worst experience ever. Waited over 25 minutes for my “tri-tip” sandwich with fries, even though there were about 6 employees working and no customers. The sandwich was horrible, the buns were burnt and the meat was raw. The fries were, well, to be kind, uneatable. Sagging and cold. What a horrible experience this has been.
Jack's is a great place to eat in Terminal B at the Sacramento Airport, the food is always fresh and very high quality.. Problem is they have two self ordering Kiosk which have both been out of order for over a week.. Takes almost 30 minutes to get your food!! Which is a huge problem if you are in a hurry!!
I spent close to $30 for breakfast for 1 person... The food is worse than cafeteria food! A parent would only have to pay $2 or something at a school for what I got. #RipOff
Came here and the one of the first things I heard was one of the workers boasting to another that they are getting off first at 130 and couldn't wait while the second one had to stay for several more hours. There was no excitement or joy to be here. I ordered a pesto chicken sandwich, which was just ok. It's not an entirely large sandwich and wouldn't really fill someone with a bigger appetite.I also asked the manager if he preferred the tri tip or the pesto chicken and he just said, "I don't know. "
My review is based on the urban fries and customer service. They were both good! YUM!
Time and again, they close up shop early. Food is gone by 8:30 and gates closed exactly 9 pm. As a airline employee that relies on airport food, my expectation is that food will be available until 9 pm if that is the stated closing time.
Terrible food, terrible service. Absolutely awful.
Staff were not pleasant to serve you. They were out of many food items and I had to go back to ask for dressing on my salad. Inconvenient for being at the airport.
This is for the Sac airport facility.Food is ok. They use a kiosk to order from to minimize staff. Of course you can add items to your order through the kiosk, but you can't take anuthing off. So what's the point of a kiosk? Then if you select printed receipt, again you have to interact with the help to get your receipt.Poor execution on the kiosk. If you don't want me to interact with the help, fix the kiosk software! Otherwise, get more help!
Fun salads, but would like to see different ingredients or dressings. Fries are soggy sometimes, I feel like a lot of that time the staff could care less and just want to get you through the line.
2 standard salads= 20+ min wait with 3 staff members going through the motions but no orders getting put out. The salad maker didn’t even start on the salads until I asked about them. It’s 5 handfuls of stuff in a box and a tub of dressing. Get your act together Jacks, being behind TSA and “off hours” shouldn’t make you think this kind of pathetic service is acceptable.
I ordered a salad 20 minutes ago and am still standing here waiting. Thank god I’m not in a hurry. Should have checked the reviews first. Avoid at all costs. Update: lady who ordered the same salad 10 min after me complained and got hers before mine. Literally had to ask them to fill the ticket that had been right in front of them for almost 30 minutes. The only reason this place is still in business is their location across from security. Do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere.
Don't be fooled, definitely not the quality of food you'd expect from a regular Jack's. It's food and probably healthier than most other places in the airport, just not great for the price. The kale quinoa salad is about 80% kale with just a sprinkle of quinoa. Edible but not tasty.
Husband got tri tip sandwich and there was two small pieces of meat and most of it was fat. There's no refills on soda. I got the pesto chicken sandwich and the flavor was good, but most of it was all bread. Had to smash the sandwich so I could actually taste the sandwich... paid close to $30 for two sandwiches, 1 soda, and fries.
I'm a frequent traveler and eat here pretty often. The food is pretty good, but the service is terrible nearly every time. Unless you have all the time in the world before your flight, it isn't worth the risk.
Big mistake. Terrible food and employees that barely want to help you.
Don't eat here...it took 15 minutes to make a $16 Southwestern Chicken salad that had absolutely no taste to it. It should be criminal that this place is even in business.
Just awful. I wish I had read the reviews. I’ve been to the Jacks in downtown Sacramento, and I thought it was pretty good. But that was years ago.The one here in the airport has got to be the absolute worst breakfast I’ve ever had in my life. The “sourdough” was stale but not sourdough. The Mid Town Omelets was so gross. Eat before you get here. Or wait until the next airport- Denver, Dallas, Dulles all have pretty good food....why can’t Sac??
Their food looks good, the bbq brisket sandwich tasted good and the Southwest airline stewardess recommended it. The kiosks apparently have frequent malfunctions so it’s best to go up to the pickup counter and order there. The staff are attentive and nice they will get you stuff ready quick if you tell them you’re in a rush...
Ordered from the kiosk station, and was able to customize which makes it easy and convenient. However, like many other reviewers stated, I witnessed wrong orders, orders taking much longer than they should, untrained staff with deer in the headlights looks, and bland food. Ordered a pesto chicken sandwich which is usually to die for when ordered at any other location... chicken was flavorless and wet, pulled from a covered warming container (instead of fresh off the grill), ciabatta roll was not toasted as normal and order was pushed forward without letting me know they were out of carmelized onions, or offering something in place. So what, you just left them off and hoped I wouldn't notice? If you are going to spend airport prices, please spend elsewhere. This was the worst.
Well over 25 min for a standard menu item (Santa Fe Salad). Orders being called out of turn, feels like things were randomly being made, despite 4-5 employees working the front cook area (no one seemed to be in any hurry). Ended up asking for a refund and never received my order. Was told to order from another merchant. Winning operation you have there.
The first time I can here I would have given Jacks a 4 star rating as the food was pretty good and service was decent. My 3 following visits were bad. They Electronic ordering and it is difficult to get human assistance if you have questions. The last 3 times the chicken was over-fried and this last time the chicken was not only over cooked but saturated in oil. My fries were luke-warm. I won’t be eating here in the future.
Horrible food and outrageous prices. If I could I would give 0 stars
This is the last time I will eat at this place. Prior times my salads have been tolerable. Unfortunately, I got food poisoning from my last visit (11/8/2019). I ate a huge chunk of spoiled avocado - still green but the nastiest taste I had ever had. Unfortunate because I had a long day of travel, I tried eating the rest of the salad but the taste was intolerable. Staff is untrained to handle food. The no hairnets, lose long hair and general disorganized workers should have sent me away the prior times. It’s a sorry comparison to the other Jacks in town.
If I could give a 0 stars I would. Terrible, terrible , terrible!! Staff is clueless. Manager was clueless! Owner of this place won’t know why his great location business went out of business. I left after 35 minutes waiting for a simple breakfast sandwich. Ridiculous!
Ms. Christina is an amazing manager!!! She made sure the line was moving and took time out to help me with my order! I’ll definitely be stopping by again!
If the sandwich carrying their name (Jack's Classic) is any indication of what to expect, don't waste your time nor money here. Chicken was bland and barely had any sauce, besides being poorly assembled. Funny that they pride themselves to serve "award winning" meals... They might be better at other locations but this airport branch is s#%). Cool and hippie atmosphere shouldn't be your anchor, your FOOD should be your main star. Won't mention much about staff since enough reviews here describe the poor service.
terrible staff, very rude. i ordered the urban style fries and it was just oil, ranch, and clumps of cheese. would not recommend
Food poisoning... I had a tri-tip quesadilla at about 7am. By about 2pm I was extremely nauseous and could not eat anything for the rest of the day. Of course, after checking the reviews on this place, I regretted eating there. As of today, the reviews average a 1.6. That is very concerning.
The staff customer service is non-existent. I wanted to pay in cash, started at their kiosk, then asked how to pay in cash. Picked up a salad, stood at the register, and the three people working could not even bother to acknowledge my existence. When I finally said "Can I pay for this", they all acted like interacting with a human was beyond their job description. The staff person did not have the skillset to handle money, so she took my $20 and wandered into the back room looking for help. Then she forgot how much I owed. At least i got a fork and a napkin. The poor guy ahead of me had to ask for a fork, which was grudgingly given. He came back to get a napkin to no avail. I am betting when i come back in October that space will be empty.
I’m airline crew and needed to get a quick bite to eat. The staff saw I was in a time crunch and expedited my order. The sandwich was delicious too!
Watching my wife eat a greasy quesadilla that took 15 minutes to prepare and was delivered out of order. Looks like the grill was not scraped clean, so residual from the past meal was all over the tortilla. Management, read your reviews!!!! Better yet, shop your stores anonymously. Sheesh, earn your salaries.
Still hungry after spending $14 on a steak salad. Pretty sparse on meat and mixed greens. Plus they didn’t spend any time in properly trimming meat. Hard fatty layer in every piece. Staff is not friendly and takes no pride in the food they serve. I guess they don’t need to care. Captive audience in airport. Still have choices though. Next time I will choose differently.
I should have read the review before I order the food. If you can give it less than one star I would have.
Needs to stop using so much plastic for every sandwich. Great sandwich though. Just wrap it in paper please.
Horrible customer service. Staff is not trained. Manager on duty is clueless as to what is going on. We waited after we ordered 2 salads for 20 minutes and finally had to cancel the order so we could make it back to our plane. Totally organized. No fewer than 10 people got fed up and walked away.
Great service and food. I’ve been here more times than I can count before I go travel and it’s always great service and food!
The food was okay. Had the American breakfast. It's just something you can make at home. My biggest complaint is that they had the kiosk now so you dont interact with the employees anymore. The employees cook the food and then yell the order number. Very odd.
There is not enough staff, so things are very slow. They have a kiosk now to order, but I ordered Dr. Pepper, and when I went to pick it up, they said it was not working. If I had k own, I would not have paid over $3 for a dri k. My wife wanted ice tea, but that does not show up on the kiosk. Behind the cou ter was not clean, and they just were unorganized. If you see a line here or can't order at a cash register with a person, avoid this place at all costs.
This is a deli style restaurant, walk up, have your order ready before you get up there, that's why menus are available before you order... Order your food, slide down the line, pay and go.... Great fast food
Needs work on food flavors, customer service, and better notification of items that they are out of. Your better off spending about $3.00 more for a much better experience at Esquire grill.
Love Jacks but by far the worst food I have had. Took too long to get food and the fries were cold, bread was stale and tasted awful. no ketchup offered.
Always delicious. Steak salad amazing
